Our Mission
Mission Statement
River City Christian School provides a Christ-centered environment in order to educate students who learn differently, thus offering hope to their families.
River City Christian School is a unique, Christ-centered, safe environment for children with learning differences. The school's specially trained teachers and multidisciplinary curriculum enables our children to learn and grow spiritually, academically and emotionally.
River City Christian School specializes in educating students, from K through 12th grade, who have learning differences, which include Attention Deficit Hyperactivity Disorder (ADHD), dyslexia, dyscalcula, Asperger Syndrome and Central Auditory Processing Disorder, among other learning challenges.
River City Christian School believes that God has a divine purpose for every student's life, and that every student has the potential to succeed at his or her own pace and level. Our core belief is that every student deserves an educational setting that integrates personal, spiritual and academic growth to provide a comprehensive and specialized learning experience, despite the challenges they face in the learning process. It is River City Christian School's desire for each student to form the critical thinking skills necessary to make Godly choices in life.
The goal of River City Christian School is to provide the children of our community with an personalized educational program in a nurturing Christian environment. River City Christian School does not discriminate on the basis of race, color, national or ethnic origin in the administration of its educational policies, admissions policies, athletic and other school administered programs.

Our History
River City Christian School was birthed by our loving God in the heart of a pastor. River City Christian School opened its doors in 1995 in the home of Stuart and Rosemary Craig, members of River City Fellowship. The next year the school moved to an abandoned one-room church in LaVernia, Texas.
Since 1995, River City Christian School has experienced tremendous blessings from God and has grown from 8 students in 1995, to more than 140 students in 2005.
God provided River City Christian School with a profound blessing in 2000. A foundation offered the school an opportunity to lease a 32,000 sq. ft. school facility on 15 acres and in August of 2000, River City Christian School officially moved to 5810 Blanco Road in San Antonio.
Pastor William Nunez prophetically spoke the physical address in the from of Isaiah 58:10, "And if you give yourself to the hungry, and satisfy the desire of the afflicted, then your light will rise in the darkness, and your gloom will become like midday."
In 2002, River City Christian School started its first athletic team and joined the Texas Christian Athletic League with six man football and track teams. That same year the school became fully accredited by the International Christian Accrediting Association, ICAA.
In 2012 the foundation made it possible for the school to purchase the property. Under the leadership of the President/Administrator Ezzard G. Castillo the school raised the funds and on August 13, 2013 the deed was given to River City Christian School. Again the Lord performed a miracle as the school bought the property debt free!
Since 1995, God has miraculously provided for the precious students of River City Christian School. The administration, faculty, and staff continue to see Isaiah 58:10 come to life before their eyes. The administration, faculty, and staff of River City Christian School are committed to pursue healing and restoration for every child that walks through its doors. River City Christian School believes these children have a calling on their lives and that their "differences" open a unique door for them to know and express God to a lost and hopeless world.
